Assistant to the Chair Sylvia Rabeler Skok will be showing her paintings at the Lost Dog Cafe on First Friday, May 1:
“RABELER, Then and Now” is a collection of paintings from Sylvia Rabeler Skok representing transitions in her work over the years. Sylvia is an abstract and conceptual artist and color theorist working primarily in acrylics on stretched canvas. Her work is trademarked by brilliant colors and striking contrasts. Its underlying constructs have been honed through experimentation and interdisciplinary research, which has included studying design at Pratt Institute and visual perception at Potsdam College (SUNY), where she earned a BA in Psychology and Biology. She earned her MS and PhD in Systems Science at Binghamton University (SUNY), researching the abstract color-space and visual composition. The artist will be greeting guests during “Meet the Artist,” First Friday, May 1, 2015 from 6:00 -8:00 pm in the Lost Dog Lounge. Then in the Lounge we have THE FALCONERS from 9pm – midnight!
