Assistant Professor of Art History Kevin Hatch and his undergraduate students are featured in a series of segments currently airing on Binghamton NBC/ABC news affiliate NewsChannel 34 (WIVT/WBGH). The series discusses public sculpture in Broome County, and was prompted by an illustrated guide to local sculpture that was recently produced by the Broome County Arts Council (BCAC). All descriptive texts in the guide were researched and written by students in Hatch’s Spring 2014 Theories and Methods capstone class for Art History majors. The descriptive texts also appear on the BCAC website.
The segments, which are airing on the evening news this week, are currently available for viewing on the NewsChannel 34 website (follow the links on the right to watch the entire series). In addition to Hatch, they feature Kari Bayait, a member of the BCAC board, who worked closely with Hatch and the students on the project, along with Sharon Ball, BCAC director.
