Graduate activities: Wylie Schwartz at InSEA Regional Conference Vienna 2016

Doctoral candidate Wylie Schwartz will be spending three months in Scandinavia this fall to conduct research for her dissertation, titled “Experimental Pedagogies: Art and Politics of the Scandinavian Neo-Avant-Garde (1961-1972).”

Her trip is funded by an American-Scandinavian Foundation Research Travel Grant, a Barbara Abou-El-Haj Research Award and a Dissertation Year Fellowship from Binghamton University’s Department of Art History.

While she is abroad, Wylie will present a paper, titled “Ephemeral Interventions: The Radical Practices of the Danish Experimental School (1961-1972),” at the International Society for Education through Art‘s Regional Conference in Vienna on September 22-24, 2016. The title of this year’s conference is “Art and Design Education in Times of Change.” The conference is hosted by D’Art – Austrian Center for Didactics of Art, Textile & Design and will take place at the University of Applied Arts Vienna.
