Kaeun Park (MA 2018)  and Kasumi Kugo (Doctoral candidate) participated in the Association for Asian Studies Annual Conference 2022 on March 25th. They organized the panel “Gendered Bodies in Postwar East Asian Photographs” and presented their papers “Gendered Representations of Body and Labor in Everyday Life Photography in Late 1950s South Korea” (by Kaeun) and “‘Discover Japan”: Transfiguration of the Avant-garde, Girls’ Subjectivity, and Nationhood in 1970s Japan” (by Kasumi).
